Why Missions?
People Matter To God
If we claim to be a follower of Jesus, then we should care about the people He cares about. He wants everyone to know him.
"16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” ~ John 3:16-17
God Came For Us
Jesus left heaven and endured the cross for us. We can’t save ourselves...He came to save us. How can we do any less to help others know Jesus?
“6 Who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, ’ but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 and being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” ~ Philippians 2:6-8
We Are A Sent People
The last parting words and command of Jesus to His followers was to GO. Across the street, across the hall, or across the world.
Ours is a “sending” God. Jesus did not call us to be comfortable, He chose us to be obedient, to GO and take the name of Jesus with us wherever we are, to bring a lost world back to Him.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” ~ Acts 1:8

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual offering collected to support international missions. The offering was officially named in 1918 in honor of the missionary to China who urged churches to start it and give sacrificially. 100% of the offering goes to overseas missions and missionaries.
The Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC) supports the work of its churches by providing over 100 ministry services. Together we are Reaching Texas and Touching the World.
The Reach Texas offering is the annual state missions ministry offering of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. 100% of Reach Texas giving is spent on Disaster Relief, Church Planting, Evangelism, and Missions.
The North American Mission Board exists to mobilize Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
